Stanislav Mitin, Guest Stage Director, was born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in 1950. He graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Drama, Music and Cinema and began his professional career in a drama theatre. With his own theatre, Igra (Play), he toured in Spain, Great Britain and Japan. Stanislav worked as a director in the Leningrad Theatre for Young Playgoers, the Moscow Youth Theatre, and Mark Zakharov’s Lenkom Theatre in Moscow. He has directed over 30 dramatic and musical productions in Russia and abroad.
Jointly with Ella Mitina Stanislav has made more than 10 documentary films, winning awards at international documentary film festivals.
On Evgeny Kolobov’s invitation, Stanislav Mitin worked with the Novaya Opera Theatre, where he directed Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila, Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, Stravinsky’s Mavra and The Soldier’s Tale, and the Rossini divertissement.
