The Evgeny Kolobov Foundation, established in memory of the outstanding Russian conductor, and the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow present a musical festival called “Epiphany Week at Novaya Opera”. This event is taking place during the Great Orthodox Festival of Bogoyavlenie, and this is no mere coincidence. For the Maestro was born on January 19, Kreshchenie (the Epiphany), and it seems that the Holy Spirit marked his selfless devotion to Music. “Epiphany Week at Novaya Opera” presents the Novaya Opera’s best productions featuring world opera stars: conductors Jan Latham-Koenig (UK), Antonello Allemandi (Italy), Eri Klas, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, soloists Victoria Postnikova (piano), Filippo Adami (tenor, Italy), Enrico Marabelli (baritone, Italy), Thomas Walker (tenor, UK), Gavin Carr (baritone, UK). The crown jewel of the festival will be the premiere of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
