(29.12.2011) Victor Gerasimenko, Art Director of the Novaya Opera theatre, has been awarded The Moscow City Prize in Art and Literature (09.08.2011) The Novaya Opera’s Art Director Victor Gerasimenko has been awarded the 2011 Moscow City Prize in art and literature in the Fine Arts nomination for his highly artistic design of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. Among the other prize-winners are Pyotr Fomenko, Artistic Director of Fomenko’s Workshop theatre, Alexander Krupenin, Artistic Director of the Moscow Shadows Theatre for Children, Victor Vanslov, Director of the Research Institute for Fine Arts Theory and History of the Russian Arts Academy, and many other famous people. On April 16, 2011, Maestro Jan Latham-Koenig was appointed Chief Conductor of the Novaya Opera.
